Happy Fall, Dear Friends! Welcome to the Channeled Connection. Nestled in this blog is a meditation for gratitude and abundance to welcome the fall season. But, before we dive in I’d like to dispel a quick myth or two…
MYTH #1 – Shaming yourself is always counterproductive.
First of all: gratitude is superpower when it comes to transmuting heavy emotions into ones of joy. And, when cultivated, a “gratitude attitude” can replace unhealthy coping mechanisms. But… I’ve also seen it presented as a blanket solution for those who suffer from mental health. And it isn’t.
Perhaps you’re familiar with some version of this thought “I don’t deserve to feel this way, I should be grateful…” Maybe you’ve even heard this from others “you shouldn’t be sad. Think about what you have compared to X person, X situation, X country...” SHAME🔔. SHAME🔔. SHAME🔔.
Again, don’t get me wrong, gratitude is a marvelous practice – just don’t smush yourself with judgment or heed unwanted advice. Unsurprisingly, it hinders your progress. (Sidenote: I wonder what it would take for ‘should’ to be considered a swear... it’s certainly a naughty word in my book!)
MYTH #2 – Some words are meant to be felt, not just spoken.
At its core, gratitude is an emotion. The difference between an emotion and a thought? Feeling. I.E. Gratitude is an emotion that needs to be felt. If you’re feeling sad and you say ‘thank you’ over and over… it’s not necessarily going to make a big difference. First, you may need to connect to your body and do a little soul searching.
It’s like trying to strengthen a muscle. You don’t go to the gym once and expect yourself to be strong and fit forever. Feeling grateful is a practice that you work into your lifestyle – only then does it blossom into your everyday experience. And, feeling grateful for every little thing is a wondrous way to experience life.
SO, if you’re looking to welcome more abundance into your life, wealth, love or otherwise, you’re going to want to practice appreciating what you already have.
Because when you focus on noticing and acknowledging the good stuff in your life, you open yourself up to receiving even more. You create a positive cycle where appreciation attracts more abundance into your reality. It’s like planting seeds of gratitude that grow into a harvest of abundance.
Eh?? See how we circled back to Fall? The Fall Season is the perfect time to manifest abundance and gratitude. And luckily, you’re about to follow a meditation for just that!
Before you start, take just a moment to think about the people (pets), places, and things that make you happy. Your brain is amazing. When you conjure a memory of appreciation, you create grateful vibes that reverberate throughout your being. Think big or small, like that first warm cup of coffee in the morning…☕️
Now, get to it!
Letting go like the trees
Each season has its own set of unique lessons helping you to grow and evolve. Historically, the Autumn Equinox is a time to celebrate the harvest. Spiritually speaking, this extends beyond fruits and veggies. It’s about taking time to honor what you’ve created so far, and to make space for even more abundance to come.
Think about the leaves that will soon fall from their trees – there’s an element of surrender. The trees willingly and without attachment, release their leaves to fly free. You get where I’m going with this? Fall is also a time of letting go of what no longer serves your highest good.
BREATHE and get comfy!
One of the best parts of fall is wrapping up and getting cozy! If you need one, go grab a blanket and turn off your notifications (seriously, the world can wait). And, when you’re ready, take a deep breath in... and exhale slowly.
With each exhale, allow your tension to slowly melt away. Relax your forehead, soften the space behind your eyes, let your shoulders drop, and feel where you are seated. The Earth is supporting you – she's got your back (and bum😆).
Imagine a crisp autumn breeze begins to swirl through and around you. Your body becomes like a screen door – let the cool air massage your skin, soften your muscles, and vibrate through your bones. Let this breeze sway you in a peaceful rhythm.
Take a moment to reflect
Is there anything life has been trying to teach you? Notice any recurring patterns or feelings that have surfaced lately – If there's something heavy or limiting in your life, be like the trees and allow unwanted energies to be carried away in the wind.
As the autumn breeze transports your worries, old feelings of doubt and lack begin to dissolve and dissipate. Little by little, breathe into a sense of clarity. Welcome a calm, refreshed feeling and keep opening yourself to receive.
It’s always about the heart
Gently allow your awareness to drop into your heart space. You can place your hands on your chest and ask yourself: is there anything I’ve appreciated about today? Were there any small moments of joy like a snuggle with a pet, or a delicious synchronicity?
As you think of these moments, let the feeling of gratitude overflow from your heart. From this empowered place, repeat these affirmations for abundance:
- "I welcome abundance into my life as the seasons shift."
- "I release what no longer serves me and make space for creativity and prosperity."
- "I honor all my efforts and the growth I’ve nurtured."
- "My life is filled with love, joy, health, and wealth."
- "I trust the universe to provide exactly what I need, at the perfect time."
Sing with all the colors of the wind, my friend!
Now, imagine those radiant autumn leaves swirling around you in a beautiful dance of golden light. Take a moment to feel the magic of being alive in this moment, exactly as you are. You are the leaves, the trees, the wind, the seasons – you are All. That. Is.
Sit in this beautiful energy field for as long as you’d like. Then, when you’re ready, gently stretch your body and remember you can recreate this feeling at any time.
